Máximo Gómez Báez “El Generalísimo” (Baní, República Dominicana, 18 de noviembre de 1836 - La Habana, Cuba, 17 de junio de 1905) fue un general de la Guerra de los Diez Años y el General en Jefe de las tropas revolucionarias cubanas en la Guerra del 95. Máximo Gómez Baez "Generalísimo" (Baní, Dominican Republic, November 18, 1836 - Havana, Cuba, 17 June 1905) was a general of the Ten Years' War and the General Chief of the Cuban revolutionary troops in the War of 95.
Gómez fue un bello ejemplo del internacionalismo, pues dedicó la mayor parte de su vida a su “querida y sufrida Cuba”, a la par que un militar admirable por su valor e intransigencia. Juan Gregorio Pujol (Saladas, provincia de Corrientes, 27 de noviembre de 1817 – Buenos Aires, 16 de agosto de 1861) fue un abogado y político argentino, gobernador de su provincia natal entre 1852 y 1859 y ministro de Interior durante la presidencia de Santiago Derqui. Dispuso, en 1856, que se emitiera el primer sello postal que circuló en el país. John Gregory Pujol (Salted, province of Corrientes, November 27, 1817 - Buenos Aires, 16 August 1861) was a lawyer and political Argentine governor of his home province between 1852 and 1859 and minister of the Interior during the presidency of Santiago Derqui.
